Cracovia was founded in 1906, making it one of the oldest football clubs in Poland. The club initially played in local competitions, with its first successes coming in the 1920s. In a short time, Cracovia became a significant force in Polish football.

Cracovia's greatest successes occurred in the 1920s and 1930s when the club won its first Polish championships. During this period, Cracovia also won the Polish Cup, solidifying its position in Polish football.

Many notable players have graced the club's history, including Henryk Reyman, regarded as one of Poland's greatest footballers. Other famous players include Kazimierz Deyna and Wojciech Kaczmarek, who contributed to the club's successes.
