Cracovia has signed 29-year-old defender, Austrian Baumgartner, on a free transfer. The new player has spent the last six seasons with Wolfsberger AC, where he appeared in 25 matches in the Austrian top league, scoring two goals. Baumgartner served as the captain of the team that finished the season in eighth place. Throughout his career, he has also played for SV Horn, SV Grodig, Wacker Innsbruck, and VfL Bochum, and has experience in European competitions as well as in Austria's youth national teams. Baumgartner is the first player to join Cracovia this summer. Previously, the club parted ways with winger Pau Sans and defender Bosko Sutalo, whose loan spells ended. Cracovia will begin preparations for the new Ekstraklasa season on June 22, and on July 1, they will head to a 10-day training camp in Ampflwang im Hausruckwald, Austria. They plan to play four friendly matches, including a jubilee match against Sevilla FC to celebrate the club's 120th anniversary on July 19. In the first round of the new season, Cracovia will face Lech Poznań away.
