Cracovia has announced its first summer transfer, signing Dominik Baumgartner, a 29-year-old central defender who spent recent years at Wolfsberger AC. The Austrian has signed a contract until June 30, 2028, with an option to extend for another season. This transfer addresses the need to strengthen the defense following the departure of Boško Šutalo, who was on loan from Standard Liège. Baumgartner has over 200 appearances for Wolfsberger AC and experience in the Austrian Bundesliga and European competitions. Last season, he played over two thousand minutes, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His skills in aerial duels and defensive battles were crucial for Cracovia, which was looking for an experienced defender ready to play from the start of preparations. Dominik Baumgartner, standing at 188 centimeters, is right-footed and feels most comfortable in central defense. His experience and captaincy at Wolfsberger AC could benefit Cracovia in the upcoming competitions. Interestingly, Baumgartner is a cousin of Stefan Feiertag from Wieczysta Kraków and the brother of Christoph Baumgartner, a player for RB Leipzig valued at 40 million euros.
